In spite of the government's directive to the banks regarding overdrafts, Knight is still confident of gaining the necessary backing from his bankers. Knight looks into the possibility of negotiating a sale price with Pritchard which is higher than previous offers. He regrets not being able to develop the idea of realising the capital value of the flats by selling long leases.
