Scope and content
Notes in 1934 relate to a swimming and tennis club. In 1935 Swinton pays off the amount owing in his 200 shares in Isokon (Lawn Road) Ltd. Correspondence relates to the flats in Windsor and the exhibition which was hoped to be held at Harrods. Dealings with Ernest Thornton-Smith, the landowner of the Windsor property, and an exhibition at Fortnum & Mason are described. Mrs Keith Jones is mentioned as a potential investor in the Windsor scheme. Assistance from estate agents in promoting the scheme with the backing of O.T. Falk hoped to create interest. Correspondence from Rowe & Maw mentions entering Swinton's and Mrs Shand's salaries in the Control Company's returns. In 1946 Fergie Swinton writes to Pritchard requesting to know the amount of issued capital of Isokon (Lawn Road) Ltd. She also wishes to sell shares in both companies [Isokon Control and Isokon (Lawn Road)]. In 1979 Swinton writes 6 and a half pages on his life and work at Isokon. This is a personal narrative and he describes characters from the past. Not catalogued through to item level.
