Scope and content
Written on recto and verso. Crampton writes of her father’s anti-Semitism both before and after the war. He had said he would not acknowledge any children which Crampton may have with Wolfgang Hildesheimer. Crampton thought also that Hildesheimer had possibly known that he couldn’t have children.

She describes Hildesheimer’s carefree attitude with money, her worries that they might run out of money when they travelled and that they ‘both earned quite a lot, relatively, for those early post-war days.’

Discusses other people who knew Hildesheimer, Anthea Holme, Anne Oxford, Michael Hamburger.

She explains briefly the workings of the American personnel in Germany (in 1947).
