Scope and content
A large, yellow 'Corner Office' notebook containing literary, personal, and professional notes written by LC. The notebook has notes on two LC novels, Worth Dying For and The Affair, and the short story Second Son. While other notebooks in this collection are embargoed, this notebook is not and therefore it is available to view.

Particular pages of literary interest may include:

5-6 and 9 – a list of LC’s favourite books of all time, used in an article LC wrote for The Telegraph in 2009 titled “Top 40 books of all time chosen by Lee Child”.
13 – notes about the plot of Worth Dying For.
23 – a full page draft for Worth Dying For about the Duncans.
25 – an excerpt from LC’s interview with Robert De Niro for Parade in 2009 titled “Robert De Niro Can Do No Wrong”.
48 – timeline of some events that happen in Worth Dying For.
57 – a reference to Reacher’s nose break in Worth Dying For, a plot point that carries over to a later in A Wanted Man.
73 – notes for The Midnight Train, a possible alternative title for another LC work (The Affair?).
81 – notes on the events of The Affair.
90 – dialogue from the first meeting between Major Duncan Munro and Reacher in The Affair.
121-122– drafts of sentences for The Affair.
126 – outline of the end of The Affair.
130-132 – notes on Second Son.

Small Notebook 4, which also has notes on The Affair, can be found in LC/9/1/1/11 Small Notebook 4.

Full drafts and editing notes on Worth Dying For and The Affair can be found in LC/1 Novels, and Second Son can be found in LC/2/2 Short Stories.

Other notebooks with notes can be found in LC/9/1/1 Notebooks, and loose literary notes can be found in LC/9/1/2 Loose notes.
