Scope and content
Letter, 24/8/1997. TS. Lois, a hygienist writes a fun dental column in a number of dental journals. She’s always happy to see a dentist or dental hygienist mentioned in fiction as it may inspire someone to call their dental office and set up an appointment. In ‘Killing Floor’ a dental nurse is introduced and Lois asks whether, given the differences in British and US terminology, the nurse was a dental hygienist or a dental assistant. There are other teeth related mentions in the book and Lois asks if there is any particular reason for this. She provides page numbers of all these instances. Other dental titbits: Reacher wonders if Hubble is going to tell him how he is going to pay for his daughter’s orthodontic treatment (p.61); there’s a dentist’s office (dental surgery) in the city (p. 83); details of Reacher’s brother’s dental situation (p.96); and Baker is given a gold tooth and this is mentioned twice.

Letter, 3/11/1998. TS. With business card. Lois comments on references to an orthodontist and teeth in ‘Die Trying’. She had spoken to LC about including a dentist in the first scene of ‘Die Trying’.

Undated note, [1998?]. MS.

Newsletter with envelope, 20/11/2001. Mentions Jack Reacher and his toothbrush.
