Letter, 7/8/1997. MS. 2 leaves. Hilda is well past her ‘sell-by date’ and was enthralled by ‘Killing Floor’. She appreciates “the work and research you must have done. I could picture everything as your descriptive powers are wonderful … You have studied people too.” Hilda suggests that one day he might be in the position to write “a softer book” and would probably enjoy that.
