Scope and content
001 is a letter from Penelope Mortimer to Doris Lessing, explaining her difficulties with her agent. She states that she is with an agent at Sheil Land who is uninterested in her and useless. Curtis Brown are "far from enthusiastic" about taking her back. She definitely needs an agent since she has no contact whatsoever with literary circles. She refers to a comment by Lessing, that Jonathan Clowes likes to "sort out muddles", and asks whether Lessing could provide an introduction. Lessing hand writes on the bottom "Jonathan – no." [See DL/A-Z//JONAT/5/059]

002 are postcards from Mortimer to Lessing with little content.

003 is a letter from Jeremy Mortimer to Lessing, announcing Penelope Mortimer's death. Lessing declines [attending her funeral], hand writing a largely illegible note on the bottom.
