018 is a letter from Burkeman to Lessing asking whether she would be willing to travel to Greece to meet her Greek publisher Odysseas. She encloses a fax from Odysseas inviting Lessing.

019 is a letter from Burkeman to Lessing asking her to confirm her trip to Greece. Encloses a fax from Odysseas confirming proposed activities in Greece. Lessing hand writes on the letter: "No. Changed mind"

020 is a letter from Burkeman to Lessing regarding numerous issues including permissions for copyright material in Under My Skin, travel arrangements, an educational short story collection, proposed promotional and educational engagements, and foreign tax arrangements.

021 is a letter from Burkeman to the National Theatre, complaining about the standard of catering services. Lessing is CCed.

022 is a letter from Lessing to Burkeman, referring to a proposed talk called "Opportunities for Europe in Southern Africa". She states that she cannot talk about South Africa due to her lack of experience of the place, and will focus on Zimbabwe.

023 is an undated author reply form approving the proofs of African Laughter and The Real Thing.

024 is a letter from Burkeman to Lessing covering numerous issues including the front cover of Under My Skin, about which Stuart Proffitt wants to talk to Lessing. She asks after Lessing's cat Pushkin.

025 is an undated letter from Lessing to Burkeman complaining about the choice of cover photograph for Under My Skin. Enclosed is a letter for Proffitt and Mandy Kirkby of Harper Collins outlining her problems with the choice of photograph. She describes the chosen photograph as "glamour puss" and talks about the use of sex in sales and marketing. She suggests photographs of herself at 4, 14 and as an adult behind a typewriter – "a simple, honest, straightforward picture". She states that she must take her cat to the vet.

026 is an undated letter from Lessing to Burkeman, referring to the same photograph controversy as 025. She states that Proffitt and she have discussed the photograph, and the issue is settled in Proffitt's favour. "Mad. Mad. O.K. IT'S SETTLED." She states that her cat has cancer.

027 is a fax from the theatre school at DePaul University to Jonathan Clowes asking for permission to perform a stage adaptation of The Marriages Between Zones Three, Four and Five.

028 is a fax from Burkeman to Haieke Jippes confirming an interview with Lessing.

029 is a letter from Burkeman to Lessing referring to papers of hers that are being held in US and UK universities, and confirming that they cannot be quoted without written permission.

030 is a letter from Burkeman to Lessing regarding copyrighted material being held in the University of Texas [as with 029].

031 is a letter from Lessing to Clowes listing and commenting on Robert Gottlieb's criticisms of a draft of Love, Again.
