Peter Grose writes of his minor part in breaking the news to Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street that Harold Holt had disappeared in the sea. At the time, in December 1967, he was The Australian's London correspondent. He is not sure what RT wants to do with the information he holds but suggests it is the sort of thing which is best talked about over a drink rather than by letter.
