File SZ/11/22 deals with preparations for, and proceedings at, a grand dinner attended by the Prime Minister (Harold Macmillan) and Leader of the Opposition (Hugh Gaitskell), among others. Ostensibly it commemorated the centenary of Prince Albert's Presidency of the ZSL, but appears to have been more a celebration of the conclusion of the legal dispute over the Charter and Byelaws and a gesture of thanks to those who had supported SZ.
