Report on an investigation of the damage caused to enemy gun batteries and beach defences during the Normandy landings and to assess whether pre-assault bombing caused any difficulties for allied troops. It was seen that guns in concrete emplacements were not damaged significantly but auxiliary buildings were. The paper describes the targets and the craters caused by allied bombing. Includes plans and photographs of German gun emplacements.
