Krohn discusses the assessment methods of the dangers to tank crews under attack. He warns that assessments are based on the results of experiments with small animals, and that their applicability to the effects on man are not definitely known.

The vulnerability of man in tanks should be determined by direct study of battle casualties. SZ had thought it possible to carry out such a survey in France.
