Scope and content

Describes a conversation with General Grow, and the armour which had been given to bomber crews. The armour consisted of 1 mm manganese steel which protects against low velocity fragments. SZ passes on a secret report to Le Gros Clark [not included] which Grow had given him. SZ suggests possible investigations which could be carried out. These included investigations to determine the actual velocities of some of the fragments which were stopped by the body armour, and an investigation to compare the regional mortality figures for strikes in different parts of the body with those which were observed in air-raid casualties.
