Describes the first step in a survey of the economics of structural protection against high explosive bomb damage. It deals with protection that can be provided, the cost of protection, the loss of output bombs can cause, and the most efficient means of protection. Includes tables concerning loss due to damaged machine tools, intensities of raids, methods of calculating total loss of output for a particular bomb position, and the savings which can be made by various arrangements of protective walls.
