SZ confirms that his investigations into sub-surface concrete shelters do not suggest that the occupants could be harmed unless the shelter was actually destroyed. Investigations into the deaths of men in pillboxes, where the pillbox was intact, suggested that carbon monoxide poisoning and not concussion was responsible for the deaths.
