Veblen, Oswald recipient
Discusses macular blindness as described by Junius and Kuhht. Fulton quotes from a letter he received from Dr Burton Chance on this blast related injury. It is suggested by Fulton that goggles be worn by those exposed to blast in the line of duty.
Fulton asks if he and Dr A.C. Ivy, Director of the Naval Medical Research Institute at Bethesda, could visit Veblen at the Aberdeen Proving Ground "to see what would be required if animals were brought there for blast exposure." Fulton also mentions that he had written to Sir Steward Duke-Elder who knows about blast effects on the eye, [SZ/OEMU/2/19/3/25, attached].
