SZ describes his visit to North Africa and the Middle East. He mainly was involved with operational matters, and for part of the time was with the U.S. Air Force. He dined with Spaatz a few times.

SZ explains the positive and negative phases of blast waves and how the findings relate to observations made of water blast. SZ refers to observations of eye damage [in animals] and a related report by K. Tansley. SZ comments on Fulton's letter to Dr Veblen, concerning blast [SZ/OEMU/2/19/3/23, attached].
