A note is attached to the first copy explaining the conditions under which this private report can be referred to, dated 17/1/44.

The report discusses the use of steel plates in body armour. The following tables are included: the mean percent projected area of the body; regional distribution of war wounds taken from World War II; the distribution of wounds in wounded, and estimated distribution and mortality indices of fatal wounds; exposure factors in the 1914 trench warfare and 1940 Flanders fighting; the severity of wounds in different parts of the body; and probable effectiveness of body armour.
