Thanks Layton for his note on French computer policy. SZ has discussed the matter with Basil de Ferranti. SZ will ask Prince Philip about the European Institute of Science and Technology but given the United Kingdom's project for a European Centre of Technology it might be regarded as "very odd" if Prince Philip was involved with a rival venture.
