Dunnett suggests that SZ's letter of 28/1/69 [SZ/CSA/142/27] be showed to the Secretary of State and to Bill Cook. Since SZ has reported adversely on a civil servant it was usual for someone in the "Management chain" to tell him that he had been adversely reported on and why. The civil servant in question was being considered for the post of DCA(PN) but SZ did not feel it would be in the national interest to appoint him. Dunnett suggests that the matter be discussed with SZ and William Armstrong.
