Zuckerman, Solly, 1904-1993 recipient
Blount is not keen on the establishment of an International Academy of Wood Science as similar ventures have been tried before by the same people with much effort and little of value resulting, namely the International Wood Research Society. Blount feels that the United Kingdom has sufficient international connections through the International Union of Forest Research Organisations and the F.A.O. World Forestry Conference. Blount is in favour of international co-operation but not if that means "supporting new organisations which look like being both redundant and unsuccessful."
