Discusses Dr Galley's work on the molluscicide and Dr Chain's belief that its effectiveness against snails responsible for bilharzia in China could be used as a bargaining tool. Neither the Foreign Office nor the Board of Trade would be willing to use the compound in that way as it would contravene government policy. Dr Galley will send SZ full reports on the compound in case it could be of use to the armed forces overseas. SZ may wish to take the matter up with the Foreign Secretary, or Lord Rothschild and Dr Galley.
