Hardman wishes SZ a good holiday. He asks whether SZ had asked Hawthorne if he would be interested in a post at Chief Scientific Officer level in the Air Force Department.

Martin Flett was anxious for a decision as Hayne Constant was to leave the Air Force Department. Hardman suggests that SZ drop the plans on Hawthorne as he would not be well accepted in the Air Force Department. He suggests D.E. Morris for the Post.
