Informs Blackett of the arrangements made for a British party to join the USSBS's study of the effects of the atom bomb in Japan. SZ himself will go to Washington to try and obtain casualty information. Akers, Cockcroft , and Oliphant have welcomed the opportunity to obtain radiation hazard information. Asks Blackett to inform Williams of any actions initiated by Blackett relating to the matter. All that Blackett need do is inform Maitland-Wilson that SZ is going to Washington. The authorities in America will make arrangement with General Groves.
