Clarifies a number of points made by General Leyer [see SZ/BAU/1/15] regarding the inter-relationship between the BAU and Dewdney's [BBRM]. SZ points out a number of inaccuracies in Leyer's paper concerning the responsibility for co-ordinating British scientific enquiries. SZ thinks that Leyer ought to be made aware of the true facts, especially as Colonel Libessart, of Dewdney's party, has already issued a questionnaire to the railway authorities who expected the BAU to be analysing their data. This duplication is unnecessary and Air Vice Marshall Robb has requested that Pelley instruct Libessart to withdraw his questionnaire. Unless something is done the work will be jeopardised.
