Contains 48 items, all of which are drafts of the text of the air plan circulated in a final form on 3/3/44 as "Overlord". Employment of Bomber Forces. The drafts were produced between early January and the beginning of March 1944 and are largely the work of SZ and Air Commodore E.J. Kingston-McCloughry, Chief of Operations, AEAF. They show a shift in emphasis in relation to the means of disrupting transportation from widespread tactical attacks beginning a few weeks before D-Day to a programme of longer term strategic attacks on the rail infrastructure of north-west Europe complementary to a tactical programme.
