Contains four items: an Air Ministry review of the methods and weapons used in air attacks on airfields up to the summer of 1943 covering operations in Europe, the Mediterranean, Middle East, North Africa, Far East, Pacific and Russia; a paper considering the range of potential targets associated with the German Air Force which might be attacked with the aim of preventing it from operating from air fields within 110-130 miles of the [Overlord] assault area; and a letter from W.F. Dry, Director of Air Tactics, Air Ministry, to Air Chief Marshal Tedder with a paper Choice of bombs for attacks on airfields in France, Belgium and Holland, 25/1/44 which had been produced in the light of a discussion between Tedder and the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff that had touched on the use of fragmentation bombs in attacks on air fields.
