He writes that, due to "a very heavy job on shipping... and the odd moments... waiting about with a gun on the chance that Mr Goering may show himself within range" Jack "must count [him] out for the time being" to discuss [post-war] reconstruction, but "the autumn may be a more favourable time for getting a move on than we have had for years."
