Remembers the 1937 dinner when he went to America and those that are not here now:- H.G. Wells, Moholy-Nagy, Professor Reilly and Dr Scott Williamson. He mentions watching with interest the progress of British architects and how fast things move in America. He cannot bring himself to get involved with an European versus American debate. He recalls the problems he had with the English language when trying to say "no"
