Scope and content
Ise Gropius was delighted to have Pritchard's account of the early days of the Gropiuses in England. She wishes that Pritchard had mentioned Morton Shand because it was his translation of Gropius''The New Architecture and the Bauhaus' which gave Dean Hudnut the idea of bringing Walter to Harvard. She asks Pritchard for copies of some photographs. She was suprised at the mention of Paul Gropius and the exhibition of some pieces in London. She mentions Walter's great uncle Martin who built the 'Gewandhaus' in Leipzig and the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Berlin.

Ise offers some editing suggestions to Pritchard for his piece. The Gropius Festival will be held in May with a conference by 'Urban America', another by 'Urban Design' and the 'Gropius Lecture' by Kepes. Ise is busy with a Gropius Exhibition in Greece covering the last 20 years. This will go on to Milan where it will be enlarged with the early Bauhaus material, then to Darmstadt and Zurich. Wingler will attend the meeting in Stuttgart where they will decide the future of the Bauhaus Archiv
