"It is concerned with the influence on the shape of furniture by those who applied systematic thought - scientific thought - in the broadest sense." Jack Pritchard gives examples of a few new materials that have had an effect on the design of furniture. He argues that the impact of a scientific approach has had a profound effect on the design of furniture and that this will increase rapidly.
