Two copies of a lecture given by Jack Pritchard [in the U.S.A.] in which he traces the changing character of furniture since the 18th century in Britain and in the U.S.A. since 1930. He compares the American and British furniture markets and discusses factors leading to the increase in the mass production of "experimental and imaginative design" in the U.S.A. Jack Pritchard briefly discusses the idea of the Council of Industrial Design and the Furniture Development Council. Annotated "sent to `Interiors.'" One typed annotated copy, 20 pp., one typed incomplete copy 6 pp.. Jack Pritchard acknowledges the assistance of Anthony Harris in preparing the paper.
