Pritchard, John Craven, recipient
W.A. Thorpe gives a detailed account of events leading to Samuel Bentham's discovery of 'A New Method of Planing Wood' and "methods of and machinery and apparatus for working wood, metal and other materials." He suggests that "the credit for the Panopticon and the machinery for it is due to Samuel Bentham, not to Jeremy [Bentham, his brother]." Letter heavily annotated "copy sent to [K.] Larson."
