A collection of published art gallery catalogues, art and artists pamphlets, bequeathed by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner (1902-1983, scholar of art and architecture).
The collection, which is well illustrated, is contained in 26 archive boxes. One third of the material is in German, Italian and French. The remainder is in English and covers art from around Europe, there is also a sprinkling from galleries around the world. Interspersed are a few bookbinders’ catalogues, guidebooks to exhibitions and fairs, travel guides, published lectures, and design and architecture pamphlets. The collection includes some notes, postcards, and a small amount of correspondence.
Material is primarily from the beginning of the 20th century through to the late 1950s.
