Scope and content
Lawrence think PC is turning 60 [she is in fact 62]. He regrets not having seen her in recent years. The last meeting was at the German Embassy when Lawrence also last saw Wolfgang Hildesheimer. [John] Fosberry [former Section Chief, Office of Chief of Counsel for War Crimes] had died of cancer. Lawrence mentions having seen Monica Herbeck, from their days in Nuremberg, he still heard from Freddie [i.e. Freddy] Scharf [see PC/3/6/2/16 for a photo of Freddie]. He asks if PC remembers Dr Galewski. He and Friedel had been married for 39 years, they had a fifth grandchild and still enjoyed Bach, Mozart and Schubert.
