PC had received a typhoid vaccination. She and Hanna had driven her new Jeep to Basel.
She writes of a weekend with Peter’s cousins in Heidelberg. His cousin is Latz Mitzlaff, an architect. She’d found it exhausting speaking German at a party for seven hours. On the way to an exhibition in Heidelberg she had ran into Peggy Jacobs (an acquaintance who had taken German with her at St Hugh’s). The best part of the weekend was the journey there in Hanna’s old car, through the lovely Neckar valley which she describes. She was accompanied by Wolf[gang Hildesheimer], Hanna, Hans, his aunt and Butch the dog.
She writes more about the drive to Switzerland and through the Black Forest in her Jeep, the previous weekend, with Hanna.
PC encloses three photos of herself, taken, developed, printed and enlarged by Bunny [no longer enclosed].
