PC is travelling by train to Strasbourg to meet Charles Macnamara and a friend S. MacP. She writes of how Charles is doing in his job there. She goes on to describe their tours of the city.

Hans Nichtenhauser is going to England to wait for Hanna’s release before they settle in the USA. PC and Bunny [Beryl Beswick] had been asked by their boss to stay until after September.

PC has to translate a document on the chain reaction of uranium, for which she doubts her capacity.
