Crampton, Patricia, 1925-2016 recipient
A love letter. Written in Basle, Switzerland. Addressed to Patricia in Gloucester Road, London. Annotated by Patricia on verso of envelope ‘Charles Macnamara, Basel 1950’.
Charles and Patricia had just had a holiday together “that was a sad fiasco of a holiday, or would have been if you hadn’t been so sweet to me.” He no longer felt so despondent about their future together. He is sorry they had not yet got engaged. At times he experiences moods. He looks forward to her being there with him in Basel and asks her to imagine what a married future with him, outside of England, would be like.
