Notes are for an article or speech. Text begins: “The statutes of IBBY …” The notes may also have been used in the Tehran [IBBY jury]. Explores the inner world of children and the ‘Maria’ books of Hans-Eric Hellberg; and the Swedes who are tackling the sexual problems of adolescence. “A translator cannot remain completely himself … he must be totally immersed in the intentions as well as the style of the original author.” PC believes that the book must be life-enhancing for the child.
