Scope and content
Cuttings of book reviews. Mostly it is the book which is reviewed and not necessarily the translation by PC.

In ‘The Little Captain and the Pirate Treasure’ the illustrator is named. The translator is not named yet the review reads: “An engaging fantasy, written and translated with great style and humour.” PC has annotated “transl. P.C. (damn it).”

“A sequel to the Magic Stone, this pliant translation reflects the author’s style and humour admirably, blending the direct, ingenuous tone and sophisticated wit nicely.”

Aesop’s Fables retold by Patricia Crampton. “These are some of the best retellings we have read.”

“’The Looking-Glass Castle’ [by Paul Biegel] is a translation from the Dutch, but this is irrelevant as it reads as the best English fiction.”

“Patricia Crampton has preserved the pithy character of the fables while rendering them in a prose direct but decorative and literary.” [Aesop’s Fables].
