John Sykes was the Institute of Translation and Interpreting’s (I.T.I.) first president.
Contains notes and correspondence from Kerstin Schofield, including a photograph of Sykes during the Times/Collins Dictionaries Crossword Championship (which he won for the tenth time in 20 years), as well as a press article; a photo of Sykes at Christ Church in the 1990s; a photo of Sykes in Helsinki, 1992; article by PC in PEN News after the passing of Sykes, 1994.
PC was very proud to give his funeral oration in Oxford, and proud too to win in 2002 the ‘Award for Excellence’ created by ITI in his name.
