Farewell correspondence between LC and his editor at Putnam's, as he moves his US publishing from Putnam's to Bantam Dell.
Email: LC to David Highfill, 18/1/2002. LC explains his purely business decision to change publisher "I'd have been a lunatic not to go". He loved having David as his editor and he hopes they can stay friends.
Email: David Highfill to LC, 22/1/2002. David assures LC they will remain friends however it is a sad occasion and he is finding the sale hard "Only human, I guess".
