Scope and content
Two typed leaves. Leaf 1: Lee Child and La Belle France. Leaf 2: Lee Child and Ireland. On leaf one LC has handwritten a note to Darley Anderson: "This is what I sent to the French book club a few months ago."

Lee Child and La Belle France: describes LC's connection and affinity with France. He gave Jack Reacher a French mother so he had a civilising influence somewhere in his background. She's mentioned in each of LC's first four books but in Die Trying it becomes critical to the plot that Reacher can speak fluent French.

Lee Child and Ireland. Describes LC's Irish family background. His great grandfather Samuel was a farmer before working in a mill; his grandfather John was a railway clerk and then a civil servant. His father, also John, went to Queen's University, Belfast but abandoned his education to join the British Army in WWII. LC has many happy memories of visiting his extended Irish family, both north and south of the border.
