Kenney, Annie, 1879-1953 recipient
Jill Craigie writes to Annie on a number of occasions to request her help for writing a film script on the history of the suffragette movement. Annie is not particularly receptive, as she shares Christabel Pankhurst’s views that producing a film about the suffragette movement in times of war is a wrong move. She is also concerned about rumours that Daphne du Maurier might be writing an account of Mrs Pankhurst's life, a venture that could interfere with Craigie’s proposed project. Craigie states: “I have been in touch with Mrs Pethick-Lawrence, Mrs Durand Deacon, and many suffragettes who are helping me tremendously, but I really should not like to proceed to do anything until I have seen you.”
