Scope and content
This letter is written by Stanley Baldwin personally soon after he takes office as a Prime Minister after the 1924 General Election. He writes to thank Annie for her thoughts and information about the suffragette movement: “You may rely on my paying the tribute, so well deserved, in my first public speech which will be at the Albert Hall early next month.”

Notoriously, Albert Hall was the venue for many suffragette events until April 1913, when they were banned from using it after escalation of militancy.

Dear Miss Kenney,

I have read with great interest and pleasure your letter of the 31st Oct [October].

You may rely on my paying the tribute, so well deserved, in my first public political speech which will be at the Albion Hall early next month.

Thank you most sincerely for all that you say.

Yours very faithfully,

Stanley Baldwin
