Contains correspondence relating to JH’s treatment for a gunshot wound to the head sustained on active service in N. Africa in 1942 and consists of: a letter, 23.3.44, from Cecil A. Calvert, a surgeon, thanking JH for a gift, an envelope containing correspondence between JH and Sir Hugh Cairns, February 1945, with MS notes by JH concerning his medical condition; and a letter from Freda Newcombe of the Neuropsychology Unit of the Radcliffe Infirmary, 7.10.87, referring to a recent visit by JH and notes supplied by him.
