Writes that she is researching Olive Schreiner with a view to write her biography. Discusses Lessing's afterword to African Farm, pleased that "a serious writer took her [Schreiner] seriously". Talks of Schreiner's letters, and references what Lessing had said in the afterword about "letters reflecting the people to whom they are written". Asks Lessing if she has a copy of the speech she gave at Schreiner's Centenary.
