Writes that he was approached by Prof. John Saville to assist him is acquiring information about Hyman Levy, as Levy was Laurenson's uncle. Asks Lessing for any anecdotal or appreciative material on Levy to aid in their biographical piece for the Dictionary of Labour Biography. References their meeting at Vera Leff's funeral.

Writes of her memories of Levy at their visit to the Soviet Union after the Twentieth Congress. Discusses the "deliberate murder" of Jewish intellectuals and artists, as well as their imprisonment and torture. Describes Levy as "shattered", one of the "poor boys and girls for whom communism was the Great Dream". Writes of his death that she was "not surprised, because I thought very likely his heart had been broken" by the Soviet Union and the British Communist Party. Mentions Vera Leff and Helen Spalding. Writes that she though Levy was "the best kind of communist".
