DL/A-Z//KAV/001 [from Doris Lessing to The Spectator, 13/05/1988]

Letter, 1 leaf, typed.
Writes that P.J. Kavanagh (Patrick Kavanagh) and Wendy Cope have both written in The Spectator that Lessing believes in "goblins and the little people", but she doesn't recall saying that. Writes that she does think it possible that smaller races existed before humans and they are remembered in myths and legends as fairies and goblins. Describes Harriet and David in The Fifth Child as "good people". Mentions that if she was asked in the interview about religion, she would of happily talked about it, and that everything she was asked on politics was cut out.
