Scope and content
001, from Ted Allan, and 002, from Cleo Paskal, are letters of introduction to Doris Lessing, stating that Paskal is making a documentary about Allan’s life.

003 is a letter from Merrily Weisbord to Lessing. She suggests that Lessing used some of her “perceptions” of Allan as the basis of her character Nelson in The Golden Notebook. Weisbord asks Lessing to provide more “perceptions” of Allan from the period following Kruschev’s denunciation of Stalin. Encloses a short biography of Allen’s.

004 is a reply from Lessing to Weisbord. Lessing refuses to provide any reflections on Allan. “Ted and you both take it for granted that I would want to discuss my private and personal life on television. Well, I don’t.” Lessing claims not to remember Allan’s reactions to “the Kruschev “revelations.””
